Frustrated by an increase in gun related violence in the San Francisco bay area, On March 16th, 2013, the Pittsburg Police Department held a gun buyback and amnesty program with private funding from area businesses. 291 illegal guns came off the streets that day. Determined to continue the fight to raise the caliber of their city, Pittsburg city council and Police Department reached out to us to create a virtuous cycle with the destroyed weapons and the result is Caliber San Francisco.
